The absence of color numbers on the selvage is due to the method of applying collection names and color numbers via printing. As Bella Solids are dyed, printing the numbers on the selvage would constitute an additional step, thereby increasing the cost of the finished fabric.

A practical solution is to use an Identipen or a Sharpie in black, both of which are permanent markers suitable for writing the Bella Solid color number on the selvage.
